I take temperature readings once a week, generally on a Sunday. I use a very cheap thermometer. I have been doing this since 1997. The maxmin thermometer is in a 70% shadehouse. There is some pattern. In Portsmouth, we have not had temperatures below -5°C. Below zero temperatures usually start in December and can be experienced until the end of April. Even in freezing weather, the day temperate generally rises above freezing. Frosts are not experienced between May and October.
